Dear Seahawk Parents:
Please know that South Lakes HS nor Fairfax County Public Schools recognizes senior skip days. We currently have over 150 phone messages for just 12th graders. As soon as we clear the line it is refilling. Staff are working as quickly as they can to listen to the messages and update SIS. Many parents of seniors got the automated dialer in the last few minutes and are now calling the main office. Your patience is needed as we work to update the system.
The volume of calls will determine how much we are able to get updated during work hours today. If we are not able to get to all of them you may get the automated dialer this evening. I am not pulling extra staff from their normal duties or paying overtime for staff to tend to calls. Today is a normal school day with regular operations in session. Thank you for your understanding.
