Thank you to all the parents and community members who have
taken the time to welcome me in my new role as Principal at W.T. Woodson
HS. It has been an exciting week full of meeting people, visiting
classrooms and engaging with students. I’m excited to continue to attend
various activities from volleyball, to field hockey, to the chorus concert this
week. The New to Woodson parent meeting was
Tuesday, we discussed how the students are navigating their new environment
during this challenging transition. This upcoming Tuesday, I will attend
my first PTSO meeting and all families who can come, please do! The meeting will be held in the library at 7:00pm. Upcoming calendar
items include the PSAT on Wednesday October 11th. All students’ grades 9-11 will be taking the
PSAT and will be dismissed at 12:50. Seniors are excused from school this
day as they have already taken the PSAT. We encourage them to take the
day to investigate colleges, write applications or look into post-secondary employment opportunities. There
is a rumor that Tuesday, October 10 is a “Senior Skip Day”… parents, please
know there is no such school sanctioned event as a Senior Skip Day. I look
forward to Homecoming week, kicking off next Saturday with the Powderpuff game
and Bonfire followed by spirit week, pep rally, parade, pig out, game and
finally the dance on the 21st. Be checking social media for more
details. Have a great 3 day weekend!

any opt-outs once the Student Directory has gone to the printer.
