Laps for Learning Update
THANK YOU to everyone
who came out to support Laps for Learning on Saturday!It is now time to begin
collecting the pledges. This week a donation envelope will be sent home with
your oldest OCES child. Please place your donations in the envelope and return
it to your child's teacher.
You also have the option
to donate online at the link below. Please be sure to include
your child's name and teacher when donating online.

Our fundraising goal is
$15,000 and the money will go towards school-wide technology, field trips,
assemblies, and much more! And if we reach the goal, OCES will receive a
popcorn, PJ, and movie day! Help us reach our goal!! Laps for Learning T-shirts
will be given to those students who donate $30 or more and will be distributed
in November.

PTA General Session on
October 4
Please save the date for
the PTA General Session meeting on October 4 at 7:00 in the Olde Creek Library.
Olde Creek students and staff members will be giving a presentation about the
many technology resources that our families can use to stay connected with
their student’s learning journey. The session will be interactive and we will
have computers set up for everyone to use. We hope to see you there!
Outdoor Clean-Up Day on
Saturday, October 14
Calling all gardeners,
carpenters, and outdoor enthusiasts! We will have an Outdoor Clean-Up Day on
Saturday, October 14 from 9:00 - 12:00. We will be trimming overgrown plants,
setting up our new raised garden beds, installing outdoor seating, building
all-weather whiteboards, and much, much more. If you are interested in helping
out and sharing your talents, please let us know by using the link below.

Elevation Burger Family
Dinner Night THANK YOU - Save the Date for October 19
A big thank you to
everyone who came Elevation Burger on Wednesday night for a great meal and a
fun evening with the community. It was a big success and we had such a big
crowd, they ran out of milkshakes! Save the date for the next Family Dinner
Night at Flippin’ Pizza on October 19.
Family Math Night on
Thursday, November 9
We will be having our
Family Math Night on Thursday, November 9 in the Olde Creek Cafeteria. More
information will be sent home closer to the event, but be sure to save the date
for the fun evening of learning right alongside your child.
Advanced Academics
Parent Information Night - Thursday, October 12
Please save the date for
our Advanced Academics Parent Information Night on Thursday, October 12 from
6:30 - 7:30. This will be a time where you can learn about the Level IV
screening process and Advanced Academic resources that are available at our
school.
Region 5 Hurricane
Support
As you are well aware,
our nation has recently been impacted by devastating hurricanes in Texas and
Florida. We have seen, and been deeply moved by, the images and footage showing
this devastation and the impact it is having on families and children. Many
FCPS parents, students, and staff have been asking themselves and each other,
“How can I help? What can WE do to ease the suffering?” So we decided to start
a fundraiser focused on helping schools and students!
Region 5, part of
Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia, will “adopt” the Fort Bend
Independent School District in Houston, Texas. Fort Bend ISD serves
approximately 74,500 students from very diverse backgrounds which makes them a
great match for us.
We are asking all Region
5 schools, made up of nearly 34,000 students, to team up and raise money to
help children, families, and schools in Texas. We are a community of learners,
and we are committed to supporting learning and families in our nation’s
community.

PTA Membership
We have an amazing PTA
at Olde Creek and we would love for you to be a part of it. There are many ways
for you to be involved in this organization that provides such great support to
our school. Purple PTA registration forms have been sent home, and you can join
