Dear CES Families,
We had another eventful week here at CES filled with field trips, Boosterthon, Spirit Night, Farmers' Market, Book of Honor signings, and great instruction. Next week appears to continue this trend. We have several big events next week, please refer to the Upcoming Events at the bottom of the bulletin. Unfortunately, the Bike rodeo has been canceled for Wednesday night. However, we will have walk and bike to school day on Friday. This week we had our first kindergarten students sign The Book of Honor for demonstrating good character. We look forward to many more students signing the book in the near future!
Family Field Trip
Thank you to everyone who signed up for our Family Field trip! We were excited to see that so many families were interested in join us. We hope to offer two more family field trips throughout the year, so be on the lookout for details.
Boosterthon
Boosterthon kicked off this week with a BANG! Students participated in a pep rally on Monday and daily grade level huddles the rest of the week. The money raised will be used for field trips and computers for the students of CES. Boosterthon will conclude Thursday, October 5 with a Fun Run. The students and staff are very excited for this final event. Parents are welcome to come and watch the Fun Run, as well as get some lunch at the CES BBQ. We hope to see you there!
If
you haven’t registered your student for Boosterthon yet, you can do so this weekend on
funrun.com by searching for our school or using our school’s registration code:833-575. This weekend we have a special challenge where students can
receive an additional reward for NEW pledges. You can learn more on funrun.com.
Thank you again for supporting our school!
Camp Highroads
Our 6th grade students spent three days this week on an outdoor adventure at Camp Highroads. They participated in hikes, campfires, wagon rides, pottery, and high ropes. Thank you to all of our wonderful staff that made this possible for our students.
Chipotle Spirit Night
We had a wonderful turnout for our school spirit night at Chipotle! The money raised will support Environmental Education efforts. A big thank you to Mrs. Settlemyre for organizing the event, and to all who came out to support us.
Last week our students focused on the trait of OPEN MINDEDNESS. This character strength is
critically important in today's hyper-connected Information
Age. Open-mindedness is a great tool to sort through the deluge of
information and develop informed opinions.
Next week our students will focus on the character trait of PERSPECTIVE. Please continue to have conversations at home on the weekly character traits covered at school.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by clicking HERE.
