Football Game Guidelines

Dear Hornets,

As we prepare for our next three varsity football games at Herndon vs Falls Church, Washington-Lee and McLean, I wanted to take a moment to remind you that the following guidelines are in effect to ensure that all of our patrons, students and parents enjoy the true spirit of the event:

  • Varsity Football Games will start at 7:00 pm.  We will open our ticket gate at 6:00pm.
  • Homecoming, Sat. Oct. 14th game time is 1:00 pm.  We will open the ticket gate at 12:00 pm.
  • Herndon High School (including the parking lots) is a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free zone. All persons are prohibited   from being in possession or under the influence of drugs, alcohol and/or tobacco.  Violations could result in your arrest by the police.
  • Representatives from the Fairfax County Police Department, the Herndon Police Department, the Herndon Administration, and the Herndon Security Staff will continue to monitor the activities of our patrons in the parking lot, at the ticket gate, and inside the stadium to promote a safe and secure environment for both Herndon fans and for our visitors and guests.
  • Patrons will not be allowed to enter the stadium with athletic equipment such bats, balls, sticks, etc.
  • Backpacks are not allowed.  Everyone entering the stadium is subject to search.
  • Anyone caught throwing objects from the stands will be subject to consequences.  Throwing objects puts other at serious risk.
  • Patrons will not be allowed to enter the stadium with containers such as water bottles, cups, cans, etc.
  • Student tailgating is not allowed on school grounds, unless organized by our Student Government Association.
  • Our region policy for varsity football games states that once you pay and enter the stadium you may not leave and re-enter without paying again. Please plan accordingly.
  • We play teams from different districts, counties and regions.  Ticket prices may vary, depending on the location of the game.  At Herndon, tickets are $5.00.
  • Herndon HS students and parents are asked to demonstrate good citizenship and spirited sportsmanship to our opponents and their fans. Any clothing that includes negative references to opposing teams/schools will not be tolerated.  Let's show everyone why our student section at the Hornets’ Nest is first class!

Thank you in advance for making our events at Herndon the best they can be!

GO HORNETS!!!!
