SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION!
Dear CES Families,
We have had a brilliant beginning to the school year. The teachers and students have been building strong relationships that will become the foundation for a successful year. We continue to teach routines and expectations throughout
classrooms and the building. We encourage all parents and guardians to have conversations with their students regarding the expectations laid out in the Students Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R). Through teamwork and communication between home and school, our students will have a year full of many accomplishments!
Thank you to the PTA for affording the CES staff the opportunity to spend a day at The EDGE @ GMU building strong teams focused on collaboration. We have several new staff members who have joined the CES Family this year! They are a wonderful addition to our already wonderful staff. The CES teachers have worked hard to create safe and welcoming learning environments. The school looks amazing due to all of their hard work and effort. Please join me in thanking them when you see them.
We had another wonderful Welcome Walk on Thursday, August 24. Thank you for all of the welcoming messages and signs. This tradition has and will continue to set the stage for an amazing school year!
As part of our safety focus, we will be conducting required weekly
fire drills for the first 4 weeks of school and then we will have monthly fire
drills throughout the year. We will also hold two lockdown drills over the next
few weeks as well as a bus evacuation drill for all bus riders later this
month.

Please join us for our Annual Welcome Back Picnic on Friday,
September 8 from 5:30 – 8:30.
There will be a variety of activities, music, food available for
purchase and many local organizations on-hand to share information about how to
get your children involved in various activities.
