Issue 2 — August 29
The PTA would like to recognize the wonderful individuals who worked so hard over this summer to put on a fabulous open house and feed the amazing teachers and staff at Longfellow.
Laura Sachwitz and Tara Tanner, along with Longfellow staff worked all summer to prepare for the open houses so our new 7th grade students and returning 8th grade students could have a smooth transition to the new school year. They were supported by the locker sales team of Carolyn Jolly, Sunghee Chon, Shirley Ye; the spirit wear team of Traci Ball and Marie Coleman; and our yogurt sales leader Christie Lucia! The hospitality committee has been hard at work too. They provided breakfast for 150 teachers and staff on their first day back. Hospitality has their next event at Back to School Night, September 12th. You can sign up below to help feed teachers and staff on the 12th.
We look forward to another year of PTA-sponsored programs at Longfellow. The PTA could not put on all these programs without all of our wonderful parent volunteers! Want more information about getting involved? Please email Jennifer Von Elm.

and become part of all PTA sponsored activities. Membership is $25 per
family. All members receive a copy of
our Student Directory, and extra directories are available for $10 each.
Our goal is 100% participation!
When you donate, you help Longfellow Middle School continue the tradition of success. Your contribution helps purchase laptops, classroom supplies, extra textbooks, assignment books, teacher appreciation, teacher staff development programs and support students in need. Help reach the goal by October 27th! The suggested contribution is $150 per family, but any amount is greatly appreciated.
All donations are a 100% tax-deductible.

We still have plenty of new locker organizers for sale for $25. Each sale directly supports our students and teachers through the PTA. Please see our frequently asked questions and our sales flyer for more information and email Carolyn Jolly if you have any questions.

September 12
Please sign up here to provide food or to help out at our Back-to-School Night Dinner on September 12. With your gracious support, the PTA is able to provide dinner every year during BTSN not only to show our appreciation to our fabulous teachers, but also to enable teachers to stay on campus to prepare to meet all of the parents. All donations need to be dropped off in the Lecture Hall by 4 p.m. Thank you for your generosity.

We are in need of parent library volunteers! Our volunteers help us with a variety of library chores, from reshelving books and organizing our collection, to setting up colorful library displays and assisting us with our Scholastic Book Fair. If you are interested in volunteering in the library this year, please email Jennifer Polidoro or Lisa Hoyle, and we’ll add you to the monthly distribution list for our Signupgenius. Scheduling is completely flexible, so don’t worry about this being a big commitment. We’ll take all the help we can get! In fact, we can get you started as early as next week – we have tons of fun beginning of the year projects!
