Dear Families of Carl
Sandburg Middle School,
On
behalf of the fine group of professionals at Carl Sandburg Middle School, I am
thrilled to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year. We are pleased to have our
returning 8th graders and a new, energetic group of 7th
graders. Our goal is to ensure that our students have an outstanding middle
school experience, taking full advantage of the curricular and extra-curricular
opportunities offered at Sandburg. Additionally, it is our mission to support
all students through the many transitions that occur in middle school.
I
enter my first year as the proud principal of Carl Sandburg Middle School, with
a great deal of optimism. I know that Sandburg is a special place, with a rich
tradition, dynamic students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. The
educators at Sandburg collaborate to provide a positive and productive school
culture, with a keen focus on high quality teaching and learning. I look
forward to engaging with you, as the year progresses. Let’s work together and
have a fabulous school year!

PTA News
Your Sandburg Middle School PTA welcomes you to
a new school year!
You are invited to join the PTA today!
For just $20 (checks payable to “Sandburg PTA”), your family can become part of
an organization that works hard for our children on a local, state and national
level. Right here at Carl Sandburg, the PTA plays a vital role in the
school community. In addition to organizing events and providing necessary
volunteers, the PTA provides much needed funding for items including classroom
computers, printers and other technology, field trip expenses, after school
programs, teacher start-up funds, professional development and much more!
A PTA membership representative will be available at Back to School night on
Tuesday, September 27th and at the first PTA meeting on Tuesday, September 19th
at 7pm.
Thank you to all the parents who helped get
the school year started on the right note by providing food for the staff Back
to School Breakfast. It was all greatly appreciated.
Welcome to Moe’s....and Sandburg's first
Restaurant Night on Wednesday, September 20th. For this fundraising
event, Moe's will donate 40% back to Sandburg so go mucho mucho hungry.
Please remember, the PTA only gets credit for the customers who print and bring
