Dear Seahawk Families:

I hope your summer is off to a great start.  We know that emergencies and the need for resources comes up over the summer. Below are a variety of sources, some from the school system and others independent, that might be of use.

 

FCPS / SLHS:

FCPS Parent Clinic

FCPS' Summer Parent Clinic is accepting appointments. Parents can schedule a 45-minute consultative appointment with a school psychologist or school social worker if their child is experiencing social-emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges. Free Lunches Available

The Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Office of Food and Nutrition Services will provide picnic-style summer lunches for students via its FEEDS (Food for Every Child to Eat During Summer) program at various locations across Fairfax County.

The FEEDS program will provide nutritious lunches at 11 schools and five additional community sites beginning Monday, June 26, through Friday, August 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (except for July 3 and 4). There is no charge for students 18 and under; adults are $2 per meal. Reservations are not necessary, and everyone is welcome.

Locations close to SLHS include:  Dogwood ES, Hutchison ES and Herndon HS

 

SLHS PTSA Food Pantry

Run by volunteers from our PTSA, the pantry will be open every Thursday over the summer from  3pm-6pm.  Come by and pick up food needs in room 372.

 

School Security

In an emergency situation, school security can reach school staff. They are staffed 24-7 and can be reached at 571-423-2000.
