1. Health Room News:  The school year is quickly coming to an end; here are a few tips for the end of the school year.

Have any Medication in the Health Room/Clinic? Don’t forget to pick it up!  All medication left in the Health Room after students depart on the last day of school will be destroyed.  A parent must pick up any medication in the health room on or before June 23rd.  Students are not allowed to take home medication on the last day of school.

Need your ‘Meds’ in Summer Camp/School?  Did you know? … If your student will be enrolled in a 2017 FCPS summer program, you may continue to use their current Medication / Inhaler / Epi-Pen Authorization form(s) for summer programs. Call the Health Room before the end of the year if you want a copy of the student’s forms.

Medication Drop-Off Date in late August!  Medications and Authorization forms will be accepted in the Health Room, during the Parent Open House before the first day of school.  The exact date and time will be announced over the summer.

If you have specific health concerns for your child, please let our Public Health Nurse know as soon as possible.  They work all summer on School Health and they will be in touch with you before school begins.  Contact Brian Hochstrasser, 703-300-0779 or Brian.Hochstrasser@fairfaxcounty.gov

HAVE A RESTFUL, HEALTHY, HAPPY & SAFE SUMMER

2. School Health Services Survey:  The Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) employs school health aides and public health nurses who provide school health services to the students in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).  To determine the quality of these services, a survey has been developed by the FCHD.  Thank you for providing your feedback.
