Financial Information- Returned Checks
Fairfax County Public Schools
(FCPS) utilize a third party check collection service, Checkredi Payment
Services to reduce the administrative burden placed on school personnel in
managing returned checks. A returned check fee will be charged to the check
writer in addition to the face value of the check. The Commonwealth of Virginia
allows a returned check fee of up to $50.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) gladly accepts checks and ACH electronic
debits (e-checks) from your bank account for payment of various school related
purchases and fees. In the event a check or ACH electronic debit is not
honored by our bank, the returned item will be sent to Checkredi Payment Services
for collection. Your account will be debited electronically for the face
value amount and charged a fee of $30 per returned item. If funds
are not available, a Checkredi Payment Services representative may contact you
to arrange payment. By issuing a check or authorizing an ACH electronic
debit from your bank account, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Please include the following information on your check:
Full Name
Street Address
Phone number
Contact Checkredi Payment Services directly should you have questions about a
returned check or ACH transaction @ 1-800-742-2925 or customerservice@checkredi.com .

Student Services Updates
As part of the annual Chantilly pyramid college week, Franklin students participated in various
activities that educated them about colleges throughout Virginia as well as other colleges around the
country. Students were eligible to win prizes and swag from various universities each day. They also had a Q/A session with current Chantilly and Oakton HS seniors on Friday
during their lunchtime to ask about various college/career paths and
planning. Thank you to Mrs.Case for coordinating these programs for our
students!

In Between by Judith Viorst
Too
old to need a night-light and
Too
young to drive a car.
Too
young for War and Peace, too old
For
Where the Wild Things Are.
Too
young to drink a latte and
Too
old for sippy cups.
I’m
in between and sometimes
I
can’t tell the downs from ups
Too
old to cry at flu shots and
Too
young for a tattoo.
Too
young for movies rated R,
Too
old for Scooby-Doo.
Too
old for booster seats, too young
For
my own credit card.
I’m
in between and often
In
between is very hard
Too
young to give up whining and
Too
old to run amok.
Too
young for Don Giovanni and
Too
old for Donald Duck.
Too
old to keep my teddy bear,
Too
young to let him go.
I’m
in between and waiting
For
the rest of me to grow.
FCPSOn Updates
Dear Franklin Community,
For the past year, students here at Franklin Middle School have
been a part of FCPSOn. FCPSOn is an effort to further student learning
through the purposeful use of technology.
FCPS is working with Johns Hopkins University to conduct an
external evaluation of FCPSOn to identify program strengths and to inform areas
for program of improvement. As part of this evaluation, Johns Hopkins
will be conducting student and parent focus groups to get input on the FCPSOn
program. The focus group questions will center on topics such as
parent/student reaction to the program and how well the program supported
student learning.
If you are interested in participating in the FCPSOn
Student/Parent Focus Group, please contact Nate Poumade via email at njpoumade@fcps.edu. The focus group will meet May 2nd from 5:15pm to 6pm at
Rocky Run Middle School. Johns Hopkins University will randomly select
and contact focus group participants from the forms that are returned.
(Please note that returning a form does not guarantee
participation in the focus group. Randomly selected participants will be
contacted by Johns Hopkins University.)
Priscilla Cummings, author of Red Kayak, visited Franklin on Tuesday. What a great experience for our students!
