Dear Holmes Families:
First of all, on behalf of the faculty and staff at Holmes, THANK YOU for the delicious breakfast (which stretched until lunch too!) that our wonderful parents provided for us today on our workday! We were so appreciative and had fun raffling off 10 Starbucks gift cards that were donated by a parent. Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
Two weeks left in 3rd quarter (and before Spring Break!), and there is a lot on the calendar. See below for upcoming events, including our next Family Dine-out at McDonald's this Tuesday, 3/28, and our Annual Faculty Basketball Game & PTA Fundraiser on Thursday, 4/6! We have also had a few requests for our May/June SOL Test Calendar, which is also below.
This week, your student may be randomly selected to complete a School Climate Survey. Please see the letter below for details, and let us know if you would prefer for your child not to participate in the survey.
Speaking of surveys:
- You may receive a survey soon from FCPS requesting your feedback about my first year as principal of Holmes this year. This survey will be helpful for me as I grow in my leadership in order to better support the students, families, and staff in our community.
- Also, be sure to let the PTA know your feedback about and availability to support the 8th grade end of year event on June 16th through this RSVP Survey
Finally, this Tuesday will be a Mason District Town Hall hosted by Supervisor Penny Gross in response to recent news about gang activity in our local area. We encourage parents to attend in order to learn more about how to keep our students safe and engaged in positive activities inside and outside of school and home. Join us in May (date TBD) for a Parent Night focused on Summer Safety as a follow-up.
