Chinese class

Students worked as a team to identify fruits on a SmartBoard game in Mrs. Gift's 2nd grade Chinese class.


Spelling Bee

Congratulations to our school-wide Spelling Bee winners, Polina Eaves first place winner and Carter Martin runner-up.  This year’s Spelling Bee was definitely an exciting event. All of our Spelling Bee winners and runner-ups did a great job. 

Our classroom winners were: Rami Barmil, Nadia Khan, Brendan Stevens, Connor FitzPatrick, Benjamin Beauvais, Eliza Fricke, Gabriel Biastre, Riley Dino, Demir Doven, Marina Hall, Mallku Luna, Graham Campbell, Maden Ponzar, Charlotte Fricke, Maysa Remaili, Rahima Rashid, Hridita Chowdhury, Victoria Hansen, Polina Eaves, Tyler Paloma, Carter Martin, Wesley Bolton, Soraya Remaili, and Cecily Hansen. 

The classroom runner-ups were: Catherine Cutts, Marcus Van Wychen, Jason Tran, Calvin Little, Benjamin Harusadangkul, Tri Nguyen, Sonya Becker, Natalie Lai, Jefferson Reese, Abby Christman, Natasha Rivers, Leena Alkhateeb, Kamyar Shojanezhad, Conor Flater, John Dobson, Cianna Heidelmark, Abigail Abebe, Krystal Tran, Katelyn Pelka, Danil Smith, Hannah Taylor, Jaylen Pilgrim, Omar Elsayed, and Catherine Cavey.


Raptor Event at John Marshall Library

The Raptor Conservancy of Northern Virginia, our local raptor rescue will be introducing us to as many as 6 – 8 of our local raptors . . . live and in person at John Marshall Community Library on Saturday, February 25 at 10:30 am. Please register at the John Marshall Library information desk, online, or by calling (703) 971-0010.

The event description is as follows:  Raptor Conservancy of Virginia presents "Your Wild Neighbors - Raptors". Come to observe and learn about falcons, hawks, and owls. All ages.

The birds will be handled by professionals.  All who attend will be able to see these marvelous creatures closer than we could in our yards.  Everyone will be able to ask questions about the birds, how our lives affect theirs and how they affect our lives.
