OES Weekly Message

5th grade dig photo

OES 5th graders participated in "The Dig" this week.  Students created artifacts to depict their selected culture. The new "archaeologists" then had to dig up artifacts from other groups and use them to explain the new culture they just discovered!

In addition to great social studies activities, students and teachers have been talking math! Our upper grade students are learning to find equivalent decimals from fractions, while some of our primary grades are learning to decompose numbers and are reflecting on their math learning.
