High School studentsI Will Always Write Back by Martin Ganda, Caitlin Alifirenka, with Liz Welch

This summer at Robinson teachers, staff, and students will read together over the summer, and come back in the fall with a common book to discuss. This meaningful summer assignment will encourage reading, a critical skill, serve as a culture-building activity, and open a conversation among students, faculty, and staff for discussion and activities in the fall.

Students may also participate in Book Your Summer!, a new reading incentive program that builds a community of readers in FCPS.  Rising 7th - 12th graders are encouraged to spend the summer reading using the READ! activity card as a guide.

To Participate:

  1. Download a Book Your Summer READ Card from the Book Your Summer website
  2. Read and complete 5 activities in a row, in any direction, on your Book Your Summer READ card to achieve a “R – E – A – D - !” (similar to Bingo).
  3. Log the books you read on the Book Your Summer website starting June 27 through September 7, to become eligible for prizes.

Prizes:

  • One MS Student will win a laptop
  • One HS Student will win a laptop
