The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA), Virginia Railway Express (VRE), and Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) will host a third annual Rail Industry Day on Monday, March 21, 2022, held virtually from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The agencies will lead a presentation including upcoming projects and solicitations for development of rail investments in the Commonwealth, engaging industry leaders in a discussion on business opportunities. Attendance is free and open to all members of the consultant and contractor community.
Rail Industry Day attendees will learn about upcoming procurements related to the Commonwealth’s $4 billion Transforming Rail in Virginia (TRV) program. Under this program VPRA, as well as their partners VRE, CSX Transportation and Amtrak, will develop projects to improve rail transportation in Virginia including new track construction, bridges and facilities. Rail Industry Day also will feature VRE’s upcoming capital program, highlights of DRPT’s rail program, agency procurement policies, and subcontractor utilization goals for firms qualifying under the federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprises or state Small, Women-owned and Minority-owned programs.
Please register in advance. Firms are asked to limit participation to two staff members. The last day to register is Friday, March 18, 2022.
