WIDA Focus Bulletin on Interactive Learning in Content-Area Classrooms
Interactive learning is key to multilingual learners’ academic success, language development, and sense of belonging in the classroom community. Read Interactive Learning with Multilingual Learners in Content-Area Classrooms for a discussion of two aspects of interactive learning, expressing and co-constructing ideas. This resource also includes sample interactive learning activities and questions to help educators reflect on the role of interactive learning in their classroom.
English Learner Family Toolkit
The English Learner Family Toolkit was created by the National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA) to help families choose education services that meet their child’s needs. The toolkit can be downloaded in English, Arabic, Spanish, and Chinese. Watch this video to learn more about the toolkit and how it can be used by educators and schools to support families of English Learners.

The Center for Applied Linguistics Applications are Open for the EHLS Program
English for Heritage Language Speakers (EHLS) trains native speakers of critical languages in advanced English and career skills. Graduates are strong candidates for federal jobs, and after the eight-month program at Georgetown University, participants work for the federal government.
Full scholarships are available for U.S. citizens with a college degree and who are native speakers of Chinese Mandarin, Arabic, Russian, Persian Farsi, Korean, Ukrainian, Kazakh, Turkish, or Hausa. Apply here by June 18, 2024!
