Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)Training Opportunities

The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC), in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) offering Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) trainings aimed at helping SEAC members understand the role of the local SEAC in Virginia and to build more efficient and effective advisory committees.

• A live, online SEAC training will be taking place on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 8-11:30 a.m.. For more information and to register, visit live online SEAC Training. 

Self-paced online SEAC course options will take place from January 4, 2023 - January 31, 2023, and from February 1, 2023 - February 28, 2023.

IEP University Training Opportunity

The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC), in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is offering IEP University (IEPU), a training meant to provide families and professionals with accurate and useful information about IEP development and meetings.

IEPU is a self-paced online training with easy-to-understand guidance on the special education process, the IEP document, and ways to develop collaborative relationships among schools and families. 

This self-paced training will be open from January 9, 2023 - January 29, 2023. For more information and to register, please refer to the IEP University.
