Grant for Tuition Scholarships for Licensed High School Teachers to be Considered Faculty to Teach Dual Enrollment School divisions may apply to VDOE for a grant for dual enrollment tuition scholarship awards. Individuals who are currently enrolled in relevant content/discipline area courses for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters who are eligible for dual enrollment tuition scholarships are eligible for consideration. Please submit grant requests for the Fall 2022 semester no later than September 9. See Superintendent's Memo 150-22 for all the details.
Assessment Updates: Grade 3-8 Reading & Mathematics for 2022-2023 Legislation passed in the 2021 Virginia General Assembly (HB2027 and SB1357) required the implementation of “through-year” or “growth” assessments beginning in fall 2021 for reading and mathematics in grades 3-8. Beginning with the second year of implementation (2022-2023) and beyond, the legislation requires that the grades 3-8 reading and mathematics growth assessments be administered to students once in the fall and once in the winter (mid-year) during the school year. In addition to the growth assessments, the SOL tests for grade 3-8 reading and mathematics will continue to be administered.Superintendent's Memo 135-22 provides information regarding the assessment updates grade 3-8 reading and mathematics for 2022-2023.
