Nominations: Digital Learning Integration SOL Alignments VDOE is seeking nominations for individuals who are qualified and available to identify alignments between the Digital Learning Integration SOL and content area SOL and provide optional instructional strategies for use by educators. Nominees should be teachers, curriculum specialists, or other educators who have knowledge of the various content areas. Selected educators will review a preliminary list of potential alignments, revise the alignments, and provide strategies that may be used based on the identified alignments. Interested educators must submit an application, a professional reference and division-level approval. Applications are due by March 4.
Grades K–5: Online Summer Enrichment Courses VDOE's Virtual Virginia's Summer Session 2022 will feature high-quality synchronous and asynchronous enrichment instruction for elementary students in grades K–5. VATE Literacy Explosion The Virginia Association of Teachers of English’s language arts festival is designed to promote the integration of literacy and 21st century learning skills. It encourages and rewards Virginia students’ excellence in reading, writing, speaking, presenting, filming, drawing, and acting. Teachers need to register students by March 1 and submit projects Feb. 28-March 9 in VATE dropbox.
Public Comment Period: Proposed 2022 Physical Education SOL On January 27, 2022, the Virginia Board of Education received for first review the proposed revisions to the 2015 Physical Education SOL. The proposed 2022 Physical Education SOL reflect a comprehensive review of the standards and include edits to enhance clarity, specificity, rigor, alignment of skills and content, and reflect current research. Public comments regarding the Physical Education SOL will be received at vdoe.stem@doe.virginia.gov from Feb. 11-March 11.

Virginia Council on Economic Education Student Competition-March 14 The Virginia Governor’s Challenge is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge of economics and personal finance by competing with other students across the state.
