Updated COVID-19 Safety Guidance for Performing Arts Programs
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has updated its guidance for K-12 Schools Performing Art Programs during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Additionally, it should be noted that fine arts school performances to which parents or the public are invited are considered gatherings under Executive Order 72 (EO72) and as such, must adhere to the gathering limits in effect on the day of the performance. As of April 1, 2021 EO72 states that the gathering limits in Virginia are 50 individuals indoors and 100 individuals outdoors. Those limits are in place until such time as the Executive Order is amended by the Governor.
For more information, please visit the VDH K-12 website. Other questions may be directed to Kelly Bisogno, VDOE Coordinator of Fine Arts, at 804.225.2881 or Kelly.Bisogno@doe.virginia.gov.
