Capacity Building for IEP Teams
The Parent Educational Advocacy and Training Center (PEATC), in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), presents Capacity Building for IEP Teams. This training will be presented virtually and will include a webinar, discussion boards, resources, and supplementary material.
The IEP process can be daunting for everyone, including educators. School personnel report that they often find IEP meetings difficult and stressful. Parents report the same feelings. This workshop is designed to help IEP Teams build capacity around collaboration. Discussion will include a view from both sides of the table, as well as information on the seven elements of highly effective IEP Teams. We will provide practical strategies aimed at helping teams be more positive, productive, and collaborative.
A certificate of completion will be provided for all who complete the training. This training is open to parents and professionals. The training will take approximately three hours and can be accessed anytime during the two-week periods indicated below.
