New EL Education Website Design and Resources
This new website design now includes navigation tabs for a page specific to Guidance documents and resources from the VDOE, WIDA, and US Department of Education, plus a page with links to resources organized by topic. On the Guidance Documents and Resources page there is a new EL Teacher Toolkit and several new content-specific infographics.

World Language SOL Review Committee-Due March 15  
Educators interested in serving on the SOL Review Committee may apply online through the Instruction Committee Application Processing System (ICAPS). Applications will be accepted through March 15. The writing team will meet for three days in the summer during the week of July 20–24. The 2021 SOL will include standards for American Sign Language. Sign up today!

Vietnam War Commemoration Instructional Resources
The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration is proud to offer a treasure trove of instructional resources ranging from classroom posters to lessons and oral histories. Materials can be shipped for free by emailing your name, address, the number of teachers' toolkits required, and the names and numbers of poster sets requested. Online resources are available today!

Maker Mart Live Event-March 24
Join Virginia Ed Strategies for a live event from The Making Foundation's Maker Mart in Roanoke. Maker Mart is an old grocery store turned maker space where people come to tackle projects and become entrepreneurs. Participants will hear from the founder of this model program as well as from students about their experiences. Virginia Tech Teacher Workshops for Secondary Science Teachers  
This  free summer professional development for secondary science and mathematics teachers from June 22-24 in Blacksburg. Sessions are designed to support the implementation of the 2018 Science SOL, develop engineering practices, and make meaningful connections between science and mathematics concepts. Participants can choose to attend one day or multiple days and a variety of sessions are being offered.  Lodging and travel compensation is available. Limited space so register today!

Arts Integration Summer Institute-June 22-25
