New FAMIS Prenatal Coverage

Dear valued partners,

Starting July 1, Virginia will offer comprehensive prenatal coverage through FAMIS for pregnant individuals who meet all other eligibility criteria, regardless of immigration status. This means, you do not need to be a United States citizen, meet immigration status requirements, or have a Social Security number to be eligible for FAMIS Prenatal Coverage, although, you do need to meet income requirements.

This is a big change, and we would love your help to spread awareness. Join us on Monday, June 21 at noon for a presentation and conversation about how you can talk to Virginians about this change and assist them in applying.

Virginia Medicaid is excited about this change, which will allow greater access to care and improve health equity across the Commonwealth. We know that prenatal coverage and the first few months postpartum are vital in ensuring we have healthy parents and babies.

While we hope you can join us on the 21st, this meeting will also be recorded for later viewing on YouTube. The slide deck will also be available after the meeting.
