Dear Provider,
The General Assembly has approved retainer payments for Medicaid day support providers for services to members from August 1 through December 31, 2020. Read the full budget language in our FAQs. Given the short timeline, the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) needs your help to distribute payments by the imposed deadline. Your immediate action is required.
The appropriation offers retainer payments for Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver day support providers in an effort to minimize revenue shortfalls due to the pandemic and stabilize provider operations until it is safe to resume full operations.
What services qualify for this payment?
Providers in the Commonwealth licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) and enrolled with DMAS to provide the following services qualify for the payment:
- Group Day Support (97150)
- Group Day Support Customized (H2025)
- Community Engagement (T2021)
- Community Coaching Customized (T2013 U1)
- Community Coaching (T2013)
Providers must follow the steps outlined below and in the FAQs on the DMAS website.
- DMAS will require providers to apply for this specific retainer payment. All requests must be submitted to DMAS by December 9, 2020. https://www.survey.dmas.virginia.gov/surveys/?s=8WJ4NPDFJ3
- All providers who plan to receive payments through this program must send DMAS a completed one-page Enrollment Form by December 9, 2020 for submission to the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) to receive reimbursement by electronic funds transfer.
