Chester Fire Station Groundbreaking
 Board members recently broke ground on the new Fire Station 1 in Chester.
Once completed, this state-of-the-art facility will replace the 64-year-old station located just half a mile down Route 10. The new building will provide space for more firefighters and equipment, serving as the base for Engine 201, Medic 201, Brush 201, Battalion Chief 202, and the Mobile Command Center.
Volunteer Walk of Fame
 Board members honored this year's inductees at the county's Volunteer Walk of Fame ceremony. The Volunteer Walk of Fame is a dedicated recognition program located outside the county government campus, featuring engraved bricks to honor long-serving volunteers who have provided 25 or more years of service.
Leadership Metro Richmond Graduation
 Ms. Schneider was honored to officially become a member of the Leadership Metro Richmond alumni community.
Moms Demand Action Wear Orange Day
 Ms. Schneider took part in Moms Demand Action's Wear Orange Day. Wear Orange is a national initiative led by Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety, aimed at honoring survivors and raising awareness about gun violence.
Chesterfield NAACP Gala
 Board members attended the Biennial Freedom Fund and Scholarship Awards Gala, hosted by The Chesterfield County NAACP.
Sheetz Ribbon Cutting
 Dr. Hylton and Ms. Schneider were delighted to take part in the Sheetz Ribbon Cutting earlier this month.
Chesterfield ER Ribbon Cutting
 Board members joined HCA Virginia to commemorate the opening of Chesterfield ER, a new freestanding emergency room situated on Iron Bridge Road.
100 Men of Color Gala
 Dr. Hylton was honored to be acknowledged among an exceptional group of leaders, changemakers, influencers, and principled individuals in Virginia as a 100 Men of Color Virginia honoree.
West Ridge High School Topping Out
 Mr. Carroll and his colleagues celebrated at the topping-out ceremony for Chesterfield’s first new high school in twenty years. The West Ridge High School, with an investment of $135 million, is currently being built in the western Route 360 corridor.
Google Announcement
 Google unveiled a multi-million-dollar investment aimed at expanding Virginia’s workforce. The announcement took place June 11, alongside Governor Spanberger, during a visit to the county.
Falling Creek Police Precinct Topping Out
 Dr. Miller and several board members attended the topping-out ceremony for the new Falling Creek Police Precinct building.
The two-story facility, spanning nearly 17,000 square feet, is situated at the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and Chippenham Parkway. It will enhance the daily operations of the police department in one of the most heavily trafficked areas of the region.
 Juneteenth Community Leaders Breakfast
Several board members participated in the Juneteenth Celebration Community Leaders Breakfast.
This breakfast united leaders from various sectors throughout Chesterfield, all of whom are dedicated to service, civic engagement, and providing opportunities for every resident. Their leadership in neighborhoods, businesses, schools, faith communities and organizations plays a vital role in shaping the future of the county each day.
 "First Walk" Ceremony
Dr. Miller and staff celebrated the first of several planned pedestrian safety projects with a “first walk” ceremony at the intersection of Robious Road and Cranbeck Road/Mall Drive.
 The Park Grand Opening
After years of dedicated planning and effort, Parks and Recreation proudly opened The Park at River City Sportsplex.
This innovative “park within a park” is a groundbreaking addition for Chesterfield, featuring a 2,000-square-foot splash pad with various water features, as well as a playground, a game space for tweens and teens, an accessible climbing structure and multiple walking and exercise trails.
 4-H Camp Sendoff
Dr. Hylton provided words of encouragement to more than 100 youth as they gathered at Beulah Recreation Center before traveling to Jamestown, Virginia, where they attended 4-H Summer Overnight Camp June 15-19. Dr. Hylton shared personal stories of his fond memories of attending 4-H camp as a child and also reassured some anxious parents who were sending their kids off to camp for the first time.
4-H Camp is operated by Virginia Cooperative Extension with support from many partners. To make attending camp more accessible, Parks and Recreation provided bus transportation for the campers, and C-Fit Community provided 18 campers with full scholarships.
 SPARC Tour
Dr. Miller toured the Commonwealth Fusion Systems campus and viewed the SPARC device in Devens, Massachusetts. CFS announced plans in 2024 to build the world’s first grid-scale commercial fusion power plant in Chesterfield.

On the latest episode of Chesterfield Behind the Mic, Dr. Hylton discussed a number of updates on projects in the Dale District.
 Senior Volunteer Hall of Fame
Congratulations to the newest members of Chesterfield's Senior Volunteer Hall of Fame. This year's inductees, John Hilliard Jr., David Lipp and Edith Lumpkin, have dedicated countless hours serving others. Their commitment has made a lasting impact on Chesterfield.
