Chesterfield Breaks Ground on First Permanent Police Precinct Building
On Monday afternoon, March 9, the steady hum of traffic along Midlothian Turnpike and Chippenham Parkway was mixed with the sound of shovels striking dirt as county leaders and police officials gathered to break ground on the new Falling Creek Police Station. The ceremony marked the start of construction on a two-story, 16,911-square-foot building designed to support both the daily operations of the Chesterfield County Police Department and the officers who serve there.
Plans for the facility include a roll call room, recovery space, fitness area, conference rooms, general workspaces and multiple offices. The project is the first of four permanent police precinct buildings planned as part of the bond referendum approved by 76% of Chesterfield voters in November 2022. The $540 million package included $165 million dedicated to county facilities.

Champion Chiefs: Monacan Continues Dominance of VHSL Class 4 Girls Swimming and Diving
What makes a sports dynasty?
Consistency. Commitment. Teamwork. And of course, plenty of talent.
All of those and more apply to Monacan High School’s girls swimming and diving team, which recently won its fifth consecutive Class 4 state championship and seventh in the last eight years.
This is how dominant the Chiefs have been in the pool: Swimming has only been a Virginia High School League-sanctioned varsity sport in Chesterfield since the 2017-18 season, meaning they’ve won all but two of the state meets in which they’ve competed.
