Diamond Field Enhancements Bolstering Chesterfield’s Reputation as a Mid-Atlantic Hub for Baseball and Softball

Construction has begun on a new stadium field and adjacent pedestrian plaza at The Diamonds at Iron Bridge baseball/softball complex in Harry G. Daniel Park.
The stadium will include 272 seats, all covered by a steel canopy, and a press box. The approximately 30,000-square-foot concrete plaza between the stadium and a recently completed building with restrooms, storage and changing rooms for umpires will provide outdoor gathering spaces and dedicated parking for food trucks.
It's the final phase of a project that began in 2023 and involved the extensive renovation of six existing fields at Daniel Park into a tournament-quality baseball/softball complex. The Diamonds at Iron Bridge has hosted numerous tournaments since opening to the public in 2024, strengthening sports tourism as a key driver for diversifying the local economy and generating tax receipts that help fund future facility improvements across the county.

Who's Ready for Russell?
Russell is a 3-year-old neutered male Hound mix and he weighs about 44lbs. Russell is very sweet and friendly. I mean, just look at his adorable smile! Like most hounds, you'll usually find Russell just strolling around the yard with his nose to the ground. Besides sniffing all the smells, Russell enjoys playing with just the right toy and getting rump scratches. Russell would love a family to play with and a couch to relax on.
If you are interested in meeting this pet, please contact Chesterfield County Animal Services at 804-748-1683, option "2," to schedule an appointment. Office staff are available by phone 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays. Our shelter is located at 9300 Public Works Road.
