Welcome to the New Deep Creek Middle School
County leaders, school officials, and community members gathered at a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, July 23 for the new Deep Creek Middle School. This 1,800-student, state-of-the-art campus promises to shape the future of education in one of Chesterfield’s fastest-growing areas.
Located in the western Route 360 corridor, the three-story, 254,000-square-foot school stands as a symbol of vision, collaboration, and the power of public investment.
Its location also supports broader infrastructure improvements, including the extension of Westerleigh Parkway and the installation of a new roundabout on Otterdale Road to improve safety and traffic flow in the surrounding community.

Chesterfield Public Safety: Reigniting Hope in the Community
In Chesterfield County, public safety is more than just emergency response — it’s about prevention, compassion, and creating a pathway to recovery for those who need it most.
As the opioid crisis continues to grip communities across the country, Chesterfield has responded with innovative and collaborative programs that are saving lives, restoring hope, and reducing the burden on emergency services.
Despite rising challenges, particularly from synthetic opioids like fentanyl, Chesterfield is not backing down. Instead, the community is rallying around those in need, providing multiple paths to recovery, safety, and dignity.
Whether it’s a clinician arriving with a police officer, a jail inmate attending recovery sessions, or a paramedic prescribing life-saving medication on-site, the message is clear: Hope is alive in Chesterfield, and it’s being delivered—one call, one visit, one recovery at a time.

Connect with a 9-1-1 Dispatcher Using Prepared Live
Heads up, Chesterfield! The county's Emergency Communications Center (ECC) has launched Prepared Live.
This software enables the 9-1-1 dispatch center to receive live streams, multimedia and location information from mobile callers in real time. It greatly improves situational awareness for first responders and ensures that appropriate resources are dispatched to handle emergencies.
Participation in video during a call is completely voluntary and consent of the caller is required. If the caller consents, they will receive a livestream link via text from the dispatcher, enabling them to activate live video upon click.
It’s also important to note that the video call function does not provide Chesterfield ECC with access to the contents or settings of a caller’s phone.
To learn more about this technology and how it can benefit you in an emergency, visit the county website.
