Resources and Useful Information
Connect with a 9-1-1 Dispatcher Using Prepared Live
Heads up, Chesterfield! The county's Emergency Communications Center (ECC) has launched Prepared Live.
This software enables the 9-1-1 dispatch center to receive live streams, multimedia and location information from mobile callers in real time. It greatly improves situational awareness for first responders and ensures that appropriate resources are dispatched to handle emergencies.
Participation in video during a call is completely voluntary and consent of the caller is required. If the caller consents, they will receive a livestream link via text from the dispatcher, enabling them to activate live video upon click.
It’s also important to note that the video call function does not provide Chesterfield ECC with access to the contents or settings of a caller’s phone.
To learn more about this technology and how it can benefit you in an emergency, visit the county website.

CTC Students Commit to Careers on Signing Day
On April 23, nearly 50 seniors from the Chesterfield County Public Schools Career and Technical Centers gathered at CTC@Hull to put their names on the dotted line to signify the start of their new careers.
In a ceremony similar to a professional sports draft, students accompanied by a company representative signed a commitment paper to begin careers in nursing, electrical, emergency medicine, early childhood education, dentistry, automotive technology, the military and more.
Many students that signed were required to have work experience hours for their coursework and they gained that time with industry partners in the Chesterfield area. These seniors had the opportunity to build relationships and forge a strong pathway toward a paying job in their chosen field immediately following graduation.
Congratulations to all the Chesterfield County seniors who signed, and best of luck in your careers!
See more photos of the signing day event here.
