The Park at River City Sportsplex: Where community comes together
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday, March 13 for The Park at River City, a destination playground and spray park. This new “park within a park” is themed to highlight the James River ecosystem and will be anchored by an iconic and accessible climbing structure shaped to resemble a great blue heron. 🎄It also includes an evergreen tree, over 30 feet tall, to be lit for the holidays in the Clover Hill district.

The Park will inlcude a playground, splashpad, zip line, fitness trails, picnic pavilion and restrooms.
|
|
The accessible playground is themed to the James River ecosystem.
|
|
Splashpad is scheduled to open in summer 2026.
