Jessica Honaker
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
February is Therapeutic Recreation Month and the ideal time to highlight Jessie Honaker, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. As the leader of our Therapeutic Recreation team, Jessie is passionate about improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through recreational opportunities.
Her commitment is evident in the success of programs she runs like the annual All Abilities Recreation Fair, that connects individuals of all ages and abilities with valuable resources. In addition to planning, organizing and leading several TR programs each month, she devotes extra time to department efforts. In December she coordinated the department’s contribution of gifts to a family in the Chesterfield Christmas Mother program. And she continues to develop professionally, having recently earned her Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification.
Jessie is a true asset to our department and an inspiration to the community we serve. She’s an example of how one person’s dedication can positively impact many others.
