AARP Offers Free and Confidential
Tax Preparation Services
American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Tax-Aide volunteers will offer free and confidential Federal and Virginia income tax preparation and e-filing from February through mid-April at the Augusta County Government Center in Verona.
Any person, of any age, may use this service and you do not need to be an AARP member. This Tax-Aide site serves residents of Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro.

Smith Room East at the Augusta County Government Center in Verona. A Tax-Aide flag will be at the entrance.

Dates

Beginning on February 1 through April I0, 2024 – various days each week 8 am to 3 pm. The last appointments will be April I0, 2024.

Appointments Required. Call 540-416-1399 on or after January 12, 2024 and listen to the message for additional information on how to make an appointment.

What to Bring
|
Picture ID, Social Security cards for everyone on the tax return, prior year tax return, and all Federal and Virginia tax forms such as W-2, 1099-R, 1099-INT, SSA-I 099, a voided check (for direct deposit), etc.

The hope is to serve most clients with one visit this year. Some clients may need a second visit. Some types of income and/or more complicated tax returns are beyond the scope of the program.
