New Household Solid Waste Provider Starting Service in Early August
Arlington County has a new provider for residential trash, recycling and organics collection—who will deliver the best value to residents while maintaining high-quality service. You will see new trucks and crews from Bates Trucking and Trash Removal in your neighborhood in early August.
Your collection day, accepted materials (including special collections) and service levels will remain the same. The Household Solid Waste Rate for fiscal year 2025-2026 will also remain unchanged.
We’re working closely with Bates to minimize disruptions as the new crews become familiar with your neighborhood and collection routes. Report any collection issues using the County’s online Report a Problem tool at arlingtonva.us/reportaproblem for the fastest response. You can also call the Customer Contact Center at 703-228-5000 Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., to speak to a customer service representative about any service issues.
We will be monitoring collections carefully to ensure the new contractor maintains the County’s service standards and addresses any issues promptly. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period.
