APS Employee Charged; Possible Additional Victims Sought

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit has arrested and charged an Arlington Public Schools employee with a sexually-based offense and is seeking possible additional victims.

On November 8, police initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information that an Instructional Assistant assigned to Wakefield High School had solicited sex from a juvenile female student. As a result of the investigation, Darryl Ramsey Jr., 31, of Lanham, MD was arrested on November 15 and charged with Virginia Code § 18.2-370.1 Taking Indecent Liberties with a Child by a Person in a Supervisory or Custodial Relationship

Additional information regarding the investigation is restricted from release in accordance with Virginia Code § 19.2-11.2.

This remains an active criminal investigation. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe there could be additional victims. Anyone who has additional information related to this investigation or has had past inappropriate encounters with this suspect is asked to contact Detective S.
