ComplianceGo Software
The Department of Environmental Services (DES) is implementing a new electronic stormwater management inspections software known as ComplianceGo, in an effort to streamline the County’s Land Disturbance Activity (LDA) permit stormwater management inspection processes and comply with the new Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Regulation, 9VAC25-875. This software will provide better organization and communication tools to manage LDA activities, permit information, inspections and reporting, corrective action items, SWPPP documentation, and notifications between County staff and permit holders, all in one central location.
The current DES LDA inspection database will electronically transition to the new ComplianceGo Stormwater Inspection Software system in multiple phases, with the first phase beginning in September 2024. During this initial phase, all LDA regulatory stormwater compliance inspections from the County, and documentation of corrective actions by permit holders will be conducted and tracked through this online platform. LDA permit holders and responsible project contacts should expect to receive an automated email from support@compliancego.com for notifications of inspection reports, corrective action items, and expiring or expired permits. All existing and new LDA permit holders and other responsible project contacts will be required to use the ComplianceGo system to manage the stormwater inspection compliance of their projects.
What is ComplianceGo?
ComplianceGo is a web application that can easily be accessed through any computer or mobile device with internet access. Permit holders and project contacts can view inspection reports and close action items directly from the email notification, without requiring a user account. During later phases of this software launch, permit holders and project contacts of LDA permits will receive an automated email from support@compliancego.com to set up a user account. All users will be added to their respective LDA permit and project sites. For new and future LDA permits, any new permit holders or project contacts without an existing user account will be set up at the time of LDA permit issuance or at the required project preconstruction meeting. Future releases and other features of this software will be announced and implemented at later phases.

New Fees
Effective July 1, 2024, LDA regulatory compliance inspections and enforcement notices will include inspection fees adopted by the County Board for FY25. The adopted DES fee schedule is available on the DES website at and are part of the Land Disturbing Activities fees associated with Chapter 57 of the Arlington County Code.
Upon issuance of a Notice of Violation (NOV), Notice to Comply (NTC), or Stop Work Order (SWO), a fee in the amount of $630.00 will be assessed for additional site inspections associated with each NOV/NTC issued, and a fee of $2,590.00 for additional LDA plan reviews and inspections associated with each SWO issued. Inspection fees are intended to cover the cost of staff time and resources associated with processing and performing mandatory inspections and subsequent follow-up efforts by staff. Also effective July, 1 2024, the annual LDA permit renewal fee will be assessed after an inspection of a site, and a determination that required work will not be completed by the LDA permit expiration date. Conditions for determining the renewal fee are: (a) results of stormwater inspections, (b) status of SWMF as-built certification, and (c) approval of landscape inspection. For more information and updates on all other LDA permit fees, please refer to the DES Fee Schedule. Please contact the Stormwater Management Inspector assigned to your project for any questions.
