Last Day for Vision Zero Safety Feedback

Today is the last day to share your thoughts on the safety needs and challenges in Arlington County that matter the most to you as the traveling public.

Some questions to think about:

Has traveling in Arlington gotten safer?
What places feel the safest for you?
What places don't feel super safe?

Connection with Mount Vernon Trail Now Open

Great news: The connector between Boundary Channel Drive and Mount Vernon Trail is now open!

This trail segment is part of the Boundary Channel Drive Interchange Improvements project to improve traffic flow and safety near Long Bridge Drive and the I-395 interchange. The project will reach substantial completion late spring or early summer of this year.

Check out the project page to see what's changed, and see the other bike and pedestrian connection improvements are coming as part of the project.

Neighborhood Complete Streets Open Houses

Join us at our open houses to learn about the Neighborhood Complete Streets program, which allows residents to submit neighborhood streets for projects that would consider the street design for comprehensive attention and potential long-term improvements.

You'll learn about five projects projects with concept designs informed by community feedback:

Two capital projects: N. Oakland St.; 8^th Road N.
Three Shared Street Pilot Projects: S. Lynn Street; N. Wakefield Street; 12th Street S.

There are two dates and locations for the NCS Capital & Pilot Projects open house.

Tues., May 7 at Central Library, 6:30 pm -8:00 pm
Mon., May 13 at Walter Reed Recreation Center, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Before you know it, it's gonna be May, which is National Bike Month. If you've been curious about biking for transportation, Bike to Work Day (Friday, May 17) is a perfect day to try!

A few of our regional transportation partners are funding or planning for projects that help people get around Northern Virginia smoothly, efficiently and safely.

Take a look below and share your feedback to help for these projects and help improve our regional transportation network.

I-66 Commuter Choice Funding

ART 75 Service Enhancement (Shirlington to Virginia Square) is up for consideration for funding by the I-66 Commuter Choice program.

The Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) is accepting comments for this and other projects around the region by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13.

NVTA Six Year Plan

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) is requesting feedback for their Six Year Program, which allocates funding for projects throughout the region, including Arlington County.
