Barbie's Adventures in Space

Join us Thurs., Jan. 4 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. as Margaret Weitekamp, Ph.D., curator and department chair of the National Air and Space Museum, discusses the history of astronaut Barbie dolls, which have been inspiring girls to pursue STEM careers since 1965, and the museum’s Barbie collection. 55+ Membership required. Moon Bounce

Family Night at Carver   

This fun, free drop-in program for the whole family takes place on the first Friday of each month from 6-8 p.m. at Carver Community Center. Come join us for the next family night on Fri., Jan. 5! You and your family will enjoy inflatables, open game room and creative crafts. This program is open to all ages. Youth participants must be supervised by an adult. Inflatable lines close 10 minutes before event end time. Learn more here.

Families Unplugged: Family Calendars  

Celebrate the new year by creating a fun and functional family calendar to use during 2024 on Sat., Jan. 6 from 10 a.m.-noon at Arlington Mill Community Center! We’ll have some creative ideas or come with your own. $8 per person. Learn more and sign up here

MLK Tribute

Arlington’s 2024 MLK Tribute- Stones of Hope

Don’t miss Arlington's annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The program will be held on Sun., Jan. 14 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. Join us as we honor the life and legacy of MLK through the fourteen quotes inscribed at the Stones of Hope memorial in Washington D.C. Crush winter boredom with board games! Learn about game design while you work on your own board to take home and play with friends and family on Sat., Jan. 20 from 9-11 a.m. at Lubber Run Community Center. $8 per person. Learn more and sign up here

Parks & Recreation classes, camps, fitness memberships, preschools, programs and more are at a price you can afford! Our fee reduction program helps Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day! Access for All. Whether you have a short-term set back or something longer term, we're here to help.

 

Additionally, all Parks & Recreation programs, classes and camps can put modifications in place to promote an enjoyable and successful program experience for participants of all abilities. Advance notice is welcome. Call 703-228-4740 or email trinfo@arlingtonva.us.

 

Stop by our office at Lubber Run Community Center on select Saturdays to get help with registration, create an account, get login information, renew or apply for fee reductions, drop off registration forms, set up payment plans and more. The DPR Administrative Services Office at Lubber Run Community Center also has extended after hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 –7 p.m. for in-person assistance.
