Police Host Essentials Drive to Benefit Unsheltered Individuals

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is hosting an Essentials Drive to benefit unsheltered individuals in our community. Officers will be present at the following locations and times to collect new toiletries and cold weather items as well as engage with community members:

Donation Times and Locations

Friday, October 20, 12:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Lee Harrison Shopping Center
2425 N. Harrison Street

Wednesday, October 25, 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Arlington County Police Department
1425 N. Courthouse Road

Suggested Items for Donation

The following new, unopened items are needed most:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Soap
  • Socks
  • Backpacks
  • T-Shirts*
  • Underwear*
  • Pants*
  • Jackets*
  • Gloves/hats/scarves
  • Blankets

            *Most needed for adult males

Distribution

Donated items will be distributed by the Police Department and Department of Human Services personnel to those in need.
