As construction continues on Columbia Pike Multimodal Segment F, there are a number of concurrent traffic impacts to keep crews and the community safe during work.
Night Work at South George Mason Drive Intersection
Starting Tuesday, May 22 through the end of June, crews will be conducting night work at the intersection of Columbia Pike and South George Mason Drive, Sunday through Thursday, between 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM.
During these work hours, there will be no left turns except for buses, and there there will be no through-way access on South George Mason Drive. North-south traffic on South George Mason Drive will need to find other routes. Expect noise during work hours.
Conducting night work will allow crews to work safely with decreased impact on traffic.
Lane Closure Between S. Quincy St. and S. Monroe St.
The westbound lane and north sidewalk will be closed around the clock starting Tuesday, May 22 to the end of the summer between South Quincy Street and South Monroe Street.
The eastbound lanes will serve east and westbound traffic. The bus stop at South Oakland Street has already relocated to Columbia Pike & South Lincoln Street, in front of the Wendy's.
