New updates to the Glebe Road Park courts are taking place this spring. These will include installation of AcoustiFence (a sound dampening structure made of flexible material) around two sides of the tennis courts and a repainted court surface on the multi-use court. Here’s what to expect:
Tennis Court AcoustiFence Installation- Week of March 20 (weather dependent)
- AcoustiFence will be added to the south and east sides of the tennis courts.
- Anticipated installation time is about one week.
- The existing multi-court striping will remain to allow for both tennis and pickleball play.
- The courts will be closed throughout installation.
Multipurpose Court Surface Repainting- Week of April 3 (weather dependent)
- The court will be painted with a decorative design for use as flexible open space.
- Pickleball will be prohibited on the stand-alone court once it’s repainted and re-opened.
- The court is anticipated to re-open on April 10.
Court lights will continue to turn off at 10 p.m. and Department of Parks and Recreation rovers will continue to help enforce court curfews and other concerns that may arise. For assistance, please call 571-238-0265.
