Updates on Arlington's COVID-19 Response

Arlington County Public Health Division is winding down its COVID-19 operations, with most County curative testing kiosks closing on Nov. 30 and the vaccine clinic at Sequoia Plaza closing on Dec. 17.

Meet Arlington's New AED Director

Ryan Touhill is the new director for Arlington Economic Development starting Nov. 28. He will play a pivotal role in building Arlington’s strong economic position as a regional, national and international location for businesses and visitors.

Leaf Collection Starts Soon

Prepare for leaf collection starting Monday, Nov. 14! Find out when to expect leaf vacuum trucks in your neighborhood and make sure to pick up your free paper yard waste bags at one of six locations throughout the County.

Veterans Day honors those who proudly serve and defend our nation. Arlington County celebrates our veterans and thanks them for their service.

• Read the proclamation from the County Board in recognition of Veterans Day.
• Learn about Terwilliger Place, an apartment building in the Ballston-Virginia Square area that is the first of its kind in Arlington to offer half its units as veteran preference housing.

Veterans Day Holiday Schedule: Arlington County Government offices and services are operating on modified schedules for Veterans Day on Fri., Nov. 11.

• Submit your comments on two action plans to reduce E. coli bacteria and a legacy pollutant in County streams through Nov. 15. 
• Join the Arlington Boulevard Trail Study project team for a virtual public meeting on Thurs., Nov. 17, to discuss the initial concepts for the future trail.
• Provide your input on the North Sycamore Complete Streets project and see how community feedback helped inform the concept design.
• Have ideas for improving Arlington Transit? Share your thoughts on the Transit Strategic Plan.
• Share your feedback on three pilot safety projects, part of the Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate severe and fatal crashes involving pedestrians, through Nov. 20.
• Two design concepts have been created for the 2700 South Nelson Street site. View the designs and tell us what you think through Nov. 21 to shape the future temporary creative open space.

• The Commissions on Aging for Arlington County and Alexandria City will have the 2022 Virtual Legislative Forum on Aging Issues on Thurs., Nov. 17, at 10 a.m.
• An Evening with Andrea Elliott: Join us for an Arlington Reads Signature Author Event to discuss Elliott's 2022 Pulitzer Prize-winning book "Invisible Child.
• Arlington County Fire Department is collecting pet supplies to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Arlington during its Operation FirePaws donation drive through Nov. 17.
• Make the holidays brighter for children in need by participating in Arlington County Police Department’s Fill the Cruiser holiday toy drives at several locations during November and early December.
