Early Voting Locations Opening Soon 

Early voting locations for the November 8 General Election will open at Courthouse, Madison Community Center, and Walter Reed Community Center on Tues., October 25. All Arlington voters are eligible to vote early at any location. Please be aware that hours may vary.

Updated COVID-19 Boosters Available for 5-11 Year-Olds

Appointments are now available for a free bivalent (updated) COVID-19 booster for children ages 5 and older through Arlington County Public Health. Learn more and schedule your appointment today.

Traffic Updates for Annual Marine Corps Marathon

The 47th Annual Marine Corps Marathon is happening Sun., October 30. Stay up to date on road closures and traffic changes from Arlington County Police Department and law enforcement partners to accommodate the event.

• Schedule your appointment for a free COVID-19 bivalent booster, available through Arlington County Public Health. No walk-ins will be allowed.
• With cooler weather and more indoor activities coming, you can get tested for COVID-19 at no cost at one of the County’s walk-up kiosks. Rapid at-home tests are also available at pharmacies throughout Arlington.
• Curative kiosks will have new operating hours beginning Mon., October 24.
  • Arlington Mill Community Center: Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday: Closed
  • Courthouse: Open daily: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Virginia Highlands: Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Quincy Park: Open daily: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

• Visit the Quincy Street Site Landscaping and Buffer Area Improvement project page and provide your feedback on proposed options for fencing enhancements and, separately, on landscaping plans through October 21.
• The Site Plan Review Committee will host a hybrid public meeting on Mon., October 24, at 7 p.m. to review a proposed site plan for 4600 Fairfax Drive, also known as the Ballston Holiday Inn site. 
• Join County staff for a virtual public meeting on Tues., October 25, at 7 p.m. to learn about the latest progress for the Crystal City to Reagan National Airport Multimodal Connection (CC2DCA). Provide your input on the project through Nov. 6.
• Share your thoughts, questions and concerns on temporary outdoor seating areas and general outdoor dining online through October 21 and at two upcoming virtual roundtables on Thurs., October 27 and Thurs., November 3, as part of the Future of Outdoor Dining (FOOD) Study.
• Nominations are now being accepted for Arlington's annual Notable Tree Awards! Nominate a tree you think is notable due to its size, age, history, uniqueness or neighborhood significance by Mon., October 31.
• Share your thoughts with the Arlington County Board on a proposed voting method pilot for the 2023 County Board June primary election through Nov. 4.
• Should alcohol be allowed at special events in Long Bridge Park and Penrose Square? Tell us what you think about the sale of food and alcoholic beverages at these two locations through Nov. 6.

• Arlington County's first-ever strategic plan for improving food security in the community is now available.
• Arlington is considering a different way of funding its stormwater program. Check out this new tool to get a better idea of your potential stormwater utility fee.
• Join this four-part education series geared towards condominium and community associations. The first session will focus on Owner Rights and Responsibilities on Sat., October 22, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
• Come attend the Live In Arlington Information Fair to talk with health and housing professionals including mortgage lenders, real estate agents, apartment rental professionals and more on Sat., October 22, from 11 a.m. –4 p.m.
• Arlington is giving away 500 young native trees this fall to help expand and enhance the urban tree canopy. Pick up your tree at Barcroft Park’s baseball field parking lot on Sat., October 22 or Tues., October 25.
• Learn how can help yourself and others while waiting for first responders by attending free, Until Help Arrives training on Thurs., October 27, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Fire Training Academy.
• Join Arlington County Police and the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), for a Halloween anti-drunk driving event to highlight the impact alcohol has on motor skills on Sat., October 29, at 8 p.m.
• If you see suspected incidents of financial fraud, waste, and abuse that have a negative impact on the County, you can confidentially and securely report it on the Financial Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline. 

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month

Please remember to stop for pedestrians, look both ways when crossing, maintain a safe distance from cyclists while driving, and follow all speed limits as part of the County’s Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate severe and fatal crashes involving pedestrians.
