The first day of school for Arlington Public Schools (APS) students is Monday, August 29. APS is excited to welcome more than 27,500 students back to school. Project PEACE to Launch Askable Adult Initiative
Arlington’s Project PEACE is launching the Askable Adult initiative to ensure every young person in Arlington County has at least one supportive parent, caregiver, or other adult—an “askable adult”—in their life. This initiative will launch to the public at the 2022 Arlington County Fair this weekend.
Juror Qualification Process to Begin Soon
Keep and eye on your mailboxes as the Arlington Circuit Court will soon begin its annual juror qualification process. Juror questionnaires will be mailed in August to approximately 35,000 randomly selected residents of Arlington County.
- Arlington County’s Local Emergency Declaration ended on August 15.
- FREE Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are available for children as young as 6 months old! Visit the County website or go directly to the VAMS portal to schedule an appointment.
- Getting a booster dose is an important step in protecting yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19. Find out if you're eligible for a dose at one of the County's COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
- Walk-ins and appointments are still available at Arlington Mill and Walter Reed Community Centers for older children, teenagers and adults. Visit the County website for details.

Food for Neighbors is looking for lead volunteers to support its expansion into Arlington to help Arlington Public Schools middle and high school students who have food insecurity.
- The Vehicle Personal Property bills have been mailed to County residents and are due on October 5. This year, if you have more than one vehicle, you may now see multiple vehicles on one "consolidated bill."
- Arlington County’s Immunization Clinic is open, by appointment only, for adult and childhood immunizations to fulfill entry requirements from Arlington Public Schools.
- The Arlington County Public Health Division continues to respond to the ongoing spread of monkeypox and is offering vaccines by appointment to those who meet the eligibility criteria.

The 2022 Arlington County Fair is here! Come with your family and friends to the Thomas Jefferson Community Center (3501 Second Street South) this weekend for fun performances, rides, and games as well as competitive exhibits, food and entertainment.
