Arlington Poet Laureate Wins Fellowship

The American Academy of Poets has selected Arlington’s Poet Laureate, award-winning poet and Marymount University professor Holly Karapetkova, for a 2022 American Academy of Poets Laureate Fellowship.

New Voter Registration Webpage

In case you missed it, Arlington Votes has moved to a new domain: vote.arlingtonva.gov. Here you can access information on voting in the upcoming elections, including voter registration, mail-in ballots, ways to get involved, and more.

  • FREE Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are available for children as young as 6 months old! Visit the County website or go directly to the VAMS portal to schedule an appointment.
  • As COVID-19 cases continue to rise around the region, getting a booster dose is more important than ever. Find out if you're eligible for a dose at one of the County's COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
  • In the latest COVID-19 Q&A video, we're answering some of your questions about the new vaccines for children 6 months and older.
  • Is it allergies, a common cold, or COVID-19? Get tested to find out for sure. The County’s Curative kiosks offer no-cost, walk-up testing and are open daily. 
  • Walk-ins and appointments are still available at Arlington Mill and Walter Reed Community Centers for older children, teenagers and adults. Visit the County website for details.
  • Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order a third round of free, at-home COVID-19 tests. Order yours today!

  • Provide feedback on corridor concepts from the South George Mason Drive Multimodal Transportation Study through August 7. The form is available in multiple languages.
  • Join County staff on Wed., August 10, at 6 p.m. for the South Four Mile Run Drive virtual community meeting to learn about the project, see how community input helped shape concept design elements and options, and share your feedback.
  • Weigh in on the County's draft Chesapeake Bay Preservation Plan Update to reduce water pollution by reviewing the draft plan and providing feedback through August 15.
  • Also through August 15, share your input on the Gulf Branch Stream Resilience Project and its latest changes to limit environmental impacts.
  • The Metropolitan Park and PenPlace project team wants you to weigh in on proposed naming options. Submit your response.

The 2022 Arlington County Fair is less than two weeks away! Come with your family and friends to the Thomas Jefferson Community Center (3501 Second Street South) from August 17-21 for fun performances, rides, and games as well as competitive exhibits, food and entertainment.
