Arlington Achieves Platinum Status for Walkability

Arlington County has been named one of five Walk Friendly Platinum Communities in the U.S. this year. This exclusive list includes the likes of New York City, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. 

COVID-19 Vaccines Now Available for Children Under 5

Arlington is now offering FREE Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to children as young as 6 months old by appointment only at one location, Sequoia Plaza.

New Program to Address Helicopter Noise Complaints

Arlington County Board members Libby Garvey and Takis Karantonis, along with Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA), today announced a pilot program to address helicopter noise complaints in the National Capital Region. Residents will be able to submit noise concerns by webform, mobile app or by voicemail at 877-209-3200 to collect data that can be used to help mitigate helicopter noise in our area.

  • The County's no-cost curative testing kiosks accept walk-ins! There are no age, health insurance, County residency, or referral requirements to visit. Find a location.
  • Walk-ins and appointments are still available at Arlington Mill and Walter Reed Community Centers for older children, teenagers, and adults – visit the County website for details.
  • Remember to stay up to date with vaccines, get boosters if eligible, and get tested if you have symptoms.
  • Another round of at-home COVID-19 tests are available. Order yours today!

  • Submit your feedback on the proposal for the Joyce Motors site at 10th Street North and North Irving Street now through June 27. 
  • Also through June 27, share your thoughts on the South Four Mile Run Complete Streets Project’s second phase. Provide your input on challenges with the corridor and learn more about phase two of the project, located between South Walter Reed Drive and North Nelson Street.
  • Join County staff virtually for an informational meeting on the current stormwater management program on Mon., June 27, at 7 p.m.
  • On Tues., June 28 at 7 pm, the County Board is holding a public hearing and welcoming comments for the Proposed FY 2023 - FY 2032 Capital Improvement Plan. Those interested to speak in person or virtually may register by visiting the County Board website.
  • Provide feedback about your experience on the Arlington Boulevard Trail through June 30, to help shape the future of this important trail for upcoming projects.
  • Continue to share your feedback on Missing Middle Housing recommendations and offer your thoughts on other potential options for the County through July 12. 
  • National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes safer neighborhoods. Submit your application no later than Friday, July 22, and have your community’s event on the list of 2022 National Night Out locations taking place on Tues., August 2.
