More Permits Moving to Permit Arlington

Arlington County is launching the third phase of Permit Arlington, its online permitting system, on Tues., June 28. Starting Tues., June 21 at 4:30 p.m. until Tues., June 28 at 8 a.m., Permit Arlington, ePlan Review, and online payment will be unavailable to customers.

A New Home Rising for Arlington Transit

County officials along with regional transportation administrators, advocates, and community leaders broke ground on a new centralized Operations and Maintenance Facility for Arlington Transit buses. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2025.

Juneteenth Holiday Closures

Arlington County Government offices and services are operating on modified schedules for the Juneteenth holiday, Mon., June 20, 2022.

COVID-19 News & Notes

  • Walk-ins and appointments are available at Arlington Mill and Walter Reed Community Centers for booster doses for 5-11 year-olds. (Tuesday–Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)
  • Arlington Mill and Walter Reed Community Centers continue to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations by walk-ins and appointments for individuals age 5 and older.
  • Remember to stay up to date with vaccines, get boosters if eligible, and get tested if you have symptoms.
  • Another round of at-home COVID-19 tests are available. Order yours today!

  • Watch the County Board Meeting virtually on Sat., June 18, and the Recessed Board Meeting on Tues., June 21, which will include the Arlington County Trust Policy.
  • Register to join the Virginia Department of Transportation for its second virtual public information meeting for the Route 1 Multimodal Improvements Study on June 21 at 6:30 p.m.
  • The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority is hosting a virtual public meeting on June 22 at 7 p.m. to discuss improvements to Long Bridge and related railroad infrastructure. Learn more about public engagement opportunities for Long Bridge. 
  • County transportation staff is hosting an in-person event, 2022 Resurfacing Projects for Complete Streets. Join on June 22 at 6:30 p.m. for an open house to view community-informed concept designs and share your feedback on the six streets across Arlington that are being reviewed.  
  • Provide your feedback on the proposal for the Joyce Motors site at 10th Street North and North Irving Street now through June 27. 
  • Continue to share your feedback on Missing Middle Housing recommendations and offer your thoughts on other potential options for the County through July 12. 
  • Vote for a new name for the Abuser Intervention Program to help it become more inclusive and trauma-informed.
  • Share your input on Arlington's 55-and-older programs to help staff better understand your experience.
