Fiscal Year 2023 Budget Adoption

The County Board voted unanimously, on Tues., April 26, to adopt a $1.50 billion balanced General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2023. Take a look at some of the highlights of the newly adopted budget below.

Missing Middle Housing Study

Phase 2 of the Missing Middle Housing Study is now open! Join the Missing Middle Housing Study team on Tues., May 3, for a live virtual community Q&A and share your feedback about the expanding housing choice in Arlington now through May 27.

2022 Spring Book Sale

The Friends of the Arlington Public Library’s is in full swing with the 2022 Spring Book Sale all weekend long! Don't miss all their hard work this weekend!

• Arlington Mill Community Center and Walter Reed Community Center is still offering free COVID-19 vaccinations by walk ins and appointments for individuals age 5 and older. You can learn more about these clinics here.
• CDC recommends additional boosters for certain individuals. Vaccine eligibility information can be found in the COVID-19 Vaccination Schedules.

• Ending on April 30, provide your feedback for Arlington’s Chesapeake Bay TMDL Action Plan for the 2021-2026 Stormwater Permit cycle.
• Join Arlington Cultural Affairs, on May 10 at 7 pm, to virtually share your input on the design for a future arts space at 2700 S Nelson St.
• Share your thoughts on Arlington’s New 20 MPH School Slow Zones by May 9! Tell the Vision Zero team how effective these 20 mile-per-hour zones are before permanently installing them at all schools in Arlington.
• Sign up for the Dialogues on Race and Equity (DRE) Conversation on May 12 at 7 pm. Hosted by DRE partner, Glencarlyn Civic Association, this virtual community conversation will be an enlightening presentation and conversation about anti-Asian discrimination.
• On Monday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m., join Arlington County and the National Landing BID  for a virtual open house to learn about projects happening in the Crystal City - Pentagon City area.

• Summer camps are available for ages 5-18! Explore our online searchable database to show you camps with spaces available now.
• Outdoor Family Skate is Back! Come skate with us on select Saturdays this spring – April 30 and May 14.
• ACPD Participates in Spring Street Smart Campaign. Learn more about the public safety campaign on educating drivers and how to safely share our roadways.
• The demolition of the Fire Station 8 structure on 4845 Langston Blvd will begin on the week of May 2.
• The 2022 Business Tangible Property Tax Return(s) is due by May 2.
• Movies on the Deck With Parks and Rec: Star Wars, A New Hope. May 6 at 7:30 pm.
• Enjoy the Columbia Pike Wellness Festival featuring the best local wellness companies on May 7 at 2:00 pm.
• Drop off your, paper, asphalt, concrete and more for Inert Material Drop-Off/Paper Shredding on May 7, ongoing every first Saturday of each month.
• Starting Monday, May 9, the West Glebe Road bridge will be closed to motor vehicle traffic.
