Trash and Treasure Sale

Donation drop-off: Fri., May 13, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
The Aurora Hills annual Trash and Treasure sale is back! All are welcome at this neighborhood rummage sale held at the Aurora Hills 55+ Center. There will be household goods, decorative items, small appliances, games, toys, jewelry, luggage and craft supplies galore (no books, clothes, shoes, home electronics, TVs, computers, DVDs or CDs accepted at this time). All proceeds benefit Aurora Hills 55+ special events and programs. No pre-registration required.

Calling All 55+ Volunteers
The Walking School Bus Needs Wheels!
Join a great group of 55+ volunteers who spend one morning a week helping Oakridge Elementary School students walk safely to school. This pilot program will continue until the end of the school year on June 19, so don’t miss out! For more information, contact Jennifer Weber at 703-228-0955 or email jweber1@arlingtonva.us. Internet Access for Arlington Seniors
Do you enjoy using the internet? Would you like to help share that enjoyment with others? The Alliance for Arlington Senior Programs has partnered with Comcast to create a program which provides Arlington seniors with a computer, internet access, and the training to use both. Now, the Alliance is looking for volunteers to act as assistant instructors in this valuable program. Alzheimer's Groups at Central Library

Memory Café - Tuesday, May 24, 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Central Library's Quincy Room
This twice monthly event is designed to give people with early stage Alzheimer’s a chance to socialize and engage in group activities including listening to music, singing, playing games, and drawing. Each person who attends must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group - Second and Fourth Thursdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Central Library's Glebe Room
This group is designed for people who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s and would benefit from talking to others in a similar position. The group discussion will be led by an experienced facilitator.
55+ Centers will be closed on
Mon., May 30 for Memorial Day.
