Arlington Continues to See Substantial Transmission

Arlington County continues to see a Substantial level of Community Transmission, with case rate and percent positivity increasing since last week. Arlington continues to follow CDC and VDH guidance, which recommends that everyone wear a mask indoors in public if they are in an area of substantial or high transmission, regardless of vaccination status

  • Arlington cases increased from 62 to 97 cases per 100,000, remaining just within Substantial community transmission range (over 100 is considered High transmission)
  • Percent positivity remains in Low community transmission, but as of Nov. 18 the 7-day moving average is at 3.1%, up from two weeks ago when it was 2.0%

Public Health leaders in the Northern Virginia region are encouraging residents to maintain their vigilance in preventing the spread of COVID-19 this fall and winter and throughout the holiday season.
